About Women in Business at The College of New Jersey

Our Mission

Women in Business is an organization that strives to promote gender equality in the work place and in the business school. Our goal is to attract, promote, support, educate and develop TCNJ students who are interested in how to make the work place a better place. We plan to achieve this goal through school outreaches, on-campus events, peer mentoring, collaborative projects and similar activities. Being a minority in our field, we as members will welcome anyone who shares our goals and commitment to recruiting and promoting Women in Business.

History

The organization was founded in February of 2015, and is currently recognized by the School of Business at TCNJ and Student Government. Women in Business has an election board consisting of six positions, President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Public Relations, and Community Service Chair. Within our first semester at school, we had guest speakers come in, created a banner to put in Business Building, and co-sponsored multiple events on campus.

WIB Today

  • We meet on a weekly basis in the School of Business Building 123 at 2:30PM

  • We have three committees open to all members. The PR Committee helps promote our events and fundraisers.

The Fundraising Committee allocates our funds and maintains our accounts so we can continue to provide snacks and resources during our events and meetings. Last but not least, the Volunteering Committee is new this semester and helps WIB spread our message to our surrounding community.
  • Bigs and Littles! Out in the workplace several companies have mentorship programs specifically for women and these programs help them move up the ranks. Mentorship and networking are keystone experiences as a member of WIB so everyone interested can be a part of a family and join the community of motivated young women across campus!
